June Workshop

8 New Wooden Boards going home with their creators.

Left to Right - Pete - Mark - Gary - Kris - Jake - Phil - Tom - John
Although it's  winter in Victoria we had some very clear and sunny weather for the June Workshop. Phil's come back to build his second board. This time he built the Woodpecker.
Gary, Tom & his father John all have travelled from Robe in South Australia. Good effort guys. Kris brought his family down from the mid north coast of NSW for a few days while he built his new 6'4" Striper. Pete from Phillip Island and Jake from Brighton Vic.
Great job guys!

Bumper 2 Bumper

An Interview with Rusty

We received an email a few weeks ago from Rusty, he has a Car Show on Channel 31 here in Melbourne called Bumper 2 Bumper. He travels the country side interviewing car enthusiasts about their passion for their cars.

He is restoring a 70's Holden Sandman Panel Van as a show car and wanted a 70's Retro Surfboard to display with his car.
So we set about making him a 6'1" Retro Single Fin.
The show will go to air in July.

Rodney Wins Silver in Games

Rodney Gets Silver Medal on Wooden Retro Pig

Rodney attended one of our Workshops and built a Retro Pig. He sent us this email after his win.

You may be pleased to hear that I received a Silver Medal in the 50-59 Longboard competition for team VicSES at the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games on my woody.  Go Retro Pig.

The surfing competition was held at Surfies Point, Phillip Island where everyone enjoyed 3 days of spirited competition.  It was great to surf with new faces and old friends with visitors from NSW, ACT and NZ clashing with the Vico's.
Conditions were pretty good with the local Phillip Island Surfriders Club running the event and doing the judging.  The finals however on the last day had to contend with a 2 metre swell and 40 knot onshore winds.

Regards
Rodney Hose (2014 SES Surfing Champion)

Well Done Rodney

Oskar's New Board

Oskar attended the Febuary Workshop and built a 6'4'' Striper he sent us through a picture of his finished board and it looks great!!
It's stained with a maple wood stain and sealed with a marine grade gloss varnish.

Finally done the baby girl.
Plans changed along the way, but I think for the better.

Cheers again guys.

March Workshop

Another eight Hand Made Wooden Surfboards built on the March Workshop.
The Splinter range is proving to be very popular with both the 9'1'' and 7'6'' boards being built in most Workshops.
